Polishing Sterling Silver Tea Sets
Early 20th-Century Italian Silver Tea set
This magnificent set included a hot water kettle with a burner (below), a coffee pot, a teapot, a creamer, and a sugar bowl. In addition to some minor repairs, polishing was a challenge due to the complex forms, heavy black oxidization, and silver plating to cover fire scale. It took many hours of hard work to remove the tarnish and restore the surface to a reflective shine. As you can see in the above photo, the results are well worth it.

This four-piece early 20th-Century tea set includes a teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl, and creamer. The before and after photos show how much a difference professional polishing can make in the appearance of a set.
The coffee pot and teapot needed new insulators. You can read more about this repair and other common issues on the Coffeepots and Teapots Repairs page.
